JP is an economist known for his practical, systems-based approach to policy, economic transformation, and national strategy. His work spans government advisory, central banking, and international institutions, where he has contributed to major reforms and long-term development agendas. He has advised multiple governments on productivity, resilience, employment and sectoral transformation, and has led the development of national strategies across various areas.

His expertise extends to small states and emerging economies, where he has authored and contributed to influential international reports, including resilience and governance frameworks adopted by the Commonwealth.

Recognised for depth, clarity, and impact, he brings a disciplined, evidence-driven perspective to complex challenges, helping governments and institutions design economic systems that are forward-looking, resilient, and inclusive.

Founder

A serial founder building ventures at the intersection of finance, technology, and resilience. He is the co-founder of Seed, a research-driven advisory firm operating across strategy, regulatory design, and economic policy; TapSeed, Africa’s emerging super-app for money; MyUbuntu, an insuretech transforming parametric insurance in Africa and recognised as a Lloyd’s Lab alumni; and ParametricMatters, an insuretech focused on protecting farmers against climate change.

Across these ventures, JP focuses on creating systems that broaden access, strengthen resilience, and unlock economic opportunity. His companies operate across Africa and emerging markets, developing solutions ranging from digital payments and financial ecosystems to climate insurance infrastructure.

As a founder, he is driven by bold problem-solving, disciplined execution, and a belief that innovation must deliver real, measurable impact.

Communicator

JP  is a recognised economic communicator whose commentary and analysis feature regularly in local and international media. Known for clarity, depth, and a systems-thinking approach, he provides insight on economic transformation, resilience, and the future of finance. He is a frequent speaker at international conferences, where he engages audiences on Africa’s economic trajectory, inclusive insurance, and the redesign of financial systems to serve vulnerable communities.

His communication work is grounded in both practice and purpose. Whether advising governments or building ventures, JP translates complex ideas into accessible narratives that inspire action and challenge conventional thinking. This commitment is reflected in his first book, Soulful Insurance, a manifesto reimagining insurance as a human-centred tool for dignity, resilience, and inclusion.

As a communicator, JP’s mission is to shift conversations toward systems that protect, empower, and expand opportunity; ensuring that finance evolves in service of people, not the other way around.

In Soulful Insurance: Restoring Purpose to Protection, JP reimagines insurance not as a cold transaction, but as a human promise. Drawing on personal experiences, African fieldwork, and global innovation, this book challenges an industry to rediscover its soul; placing people, not policies, at its heart.
